Terms of Service

Welcome to Hand Scanner. By installing or using the Hand Scanner Android application (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use the App. By using the App you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. Your account

You may use the App as a guest for limited features, or create an account using your email or Google Sign-In. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe. Do not share your account with others.

3. Subscriptions and payments

• The App offers paid subscriptions ("Starter", "Plus", "Premium") on a monthly or annual basis, sold through Google Play.
• The price shown at checkout is the price you pay. It includes any taxes Google Play collects on our behalf.
• Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period. You can cancel at any time in Google Play → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Each tier has monthly and daily usage limits (e.g. number of palm scans per month). These limits reset on the first day of each billing month.
• If our AI service is overloaded and we cannot deliver a reading you requested, we automatically refund the usage slot so the failed attempt does not count against your quota.

4. Refunds

Refunds are handled by Google Play under their own terms. Please request refunds through your Google Play account or contact support@handscanner.app for assistance.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload images of anyone other than yourself or a person who has given you explicit permission.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App or our backend.
• Use the App for illegal activity, harassment, or any purpose that violates someone else's rights.
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the App or generate more readings than your tier allows.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

6. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, text, images, and code, is owned by us (Hand Scanner). You receive a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it. The readings the App generates for you are yours to keep and use personally — but you may not republish them commercially without permission.

7. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the readings are accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose. AI models can hallucinate or make mistakes.

The App is for entertainment only. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional in any field.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the App is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. We will notify you in-app of material changes and update the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Termination

You can stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms. On termination, your data is deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the developer is located, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
