Delete your account & data

This page explains how to request deletion of your Hand Scanner account and the personal data associated with it, in line with Google Play's user data deletion requirements.

Option 1 — Delete in the app (instant)

Open the Hand Scanner app.
Go to Settings (the gear icon).
Tap Delete account.
Confirm. Your account and associated data are permanently removed right away.

This is the fastest method and requires you to be signed in.

Option 2 — Request by email

If you can't access the app (for example, you've uninstalled it), email support@handscanner.app from the address linked to your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We verify ownership and complete the deletion within 30 days (usually much sooner).

What gets deleted

Your email address and sign-in credentials.
All palm photographs you uploaded and every reading generated from them.
Your anonymous install identifier and any scans tied to it.
Daily check-in / streak history.
Crash and analytics records linked to your account.

What we may retain (and why)

For legal, tax, and accounting obligations we keep a minimal set of records even after deletion:

Data	Reason	Retention
Subscription / purchase transaction records (no photos, no readings)	Tax & accounting law; fraud and chargeback handling.	Up to 90 days after the subscription ends, then deleted.
Anonymised, aggregate analytics	App performance statistics that can no longer identify you.	Retained in aggregate form only.
